We’re going to the Nickel Cup this weekend!
The annual race is a much anticipated event in Gananoque, blending history and excitement into a family friendly event that will have you riveted to your seat. And it’s free!
Every year, the hydroplanes gather on the water outside of Gananoque. These sleek specialty boats take off at incredible speeds, flying around the course with a ‘rooster tail’ of water behind them. The races are quick, exciting, and awe-inspiring to watch.
The Thousand Islands Boat Museum hosts the race every year, and you can stop by their location for front row seating at their new docks and information about the rich history of the event. Event seating is on the dock or riverbank, so bring your own fold-up chair, a blanket to sit on, and even a picnic lunch and plan for an afternoon soaking up the sun and excitement.
We know we’ll be watching the Nickel Cup! And we hope you’ll join us by the riverside. Like us on Facebook or follow us on Instagram for more news about what’s going on in Gananoque and at Stone & South.
